Mary Scalli, owner of North Houston Blinds, LLC dba Simple Elegance… Simply Put, A Simple Change Can Add Elegance/Equity To Your Home.

Simple Elegance was originally born on Cape Cod, MA where Mary and her best friend Leslie were in need of affordable window treatments for their home. As mom’s of young children, they desired to dress their homes with style and beauty but did not have lots of money to do this. However, Leslie was very familiar with a ready-made window treatment line out of CT that looked custom with trim and lining but was priced right.

The business flourished as people saw the great ready-made lines they brought in along with custom products including Hunter Douglas window treatments, Norman Shutters and blinds, Custom Drapes/Valances and the unique items they brought into their store.  Mary’s husband was then transferred to Houston where she knew immediately, she would re-start the business working out of her home.

Simple Elegance offers ready-made and custom window treatments, Hunter Douglas Products, Norman Shutters and Blinds, Kathy Ireland’s Alta treatments, bedding, custom furniture and re-upholstery services, color consultations and much, much more.

Mary’s approach to business is to meet with the customer in their home and “play with them” to find what’s right for their home. She is also an Accredited Staging Professional and brings her talents and creativity to either refresh the look of your home with what you have along with adding new items as budget allows or to set the stage for your house going on the sales market to get top dollar for it in the shortest amount of time on the market.

Before owning her own business, Mary worked for Westin Hotels & Resorts in many different US cities and was a Store Manger & District Manager for Talbots in MA and NH. As a store manager with Talbots, she received many awards/nominations for Outstanding Customer Service and Outstanding Visual. She is a member and the Treasurer of the Greater Houston Chapter of IASHP, Chair of Junior League of North Harris & Southern Montgomery Counties DIAD (Done In A Day) committee, and an active member in her church. College of Business BA from Michigan State University. Accredited Staging Professional (ASP) from Stagedhomes.com, the only accredited training program in the world.
