On Saturday and Sunday, June 3 and 4, The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center at 1601 Lake Robbins Drive, The Woodlands, will serve as a one-stop home-improvement venue as it hosts the 15th Annual Spring Home & Garden Show The Woodlands.
With more than 200 homebuilding, decorating and renovation experts on site, the show will feature the products and solutions necessary to complete any home project, regardless of size.
“Our goal is to provide information and guidance on any area of the home that needs repairs or updates,” Tony Wood, president of Texwood Shows Inc., producer of the Spring Home & Garden Show The Woodlands, said. “This year we’ll feature companies specializing in the newest products for areas ranging from the floor to the ceiling and from the curb to the patio.”
With hurricane and tropical storm season upon us, homeowners in southeast Texas must be prepared for inclement weather. To help families stay safe during severe weather events, experts from KISS Generators (booth #114) will be at the show to share information on Kohler generators to help meet power needs during an outage.
Representatives from Texas Hurricane Fabric (booth #1003) also will be on hand to provide information on the effective, easy-to-install and space-saving storage of AstroGuard, its patented hurricane protection shield.
Addressing another common issue many Houston-area homeowners face – cracks affecting the level of a home’s foundation, driveway and sidewalk – representatives from Leveled Concrete will be at the show to explain the company’s process of injecting compressed polyurethane to fill gaps, stabilizing and leveling concrete areas.
Interiors will receive special attention with experts from natural quartz surface manufacturer, Cambria (booth #619), who will display the company’s newest countertop matte designs for kitchen or bath. Whether custom-building or remodeling a kitchen or bath, specialists from ABM Cabinets (booth # L7) will explain the benefits of manufactured vs. job-built cabinets, showcasing high-quality cabinets from established manufacturers Wellborn and Karman. To get the outdoor kitchen cooking, the experts at ABM can help with the new line of weather-resistant options available from stainless steel outdoor cabinet manufacturer, Danver.
For the perfect finishing touch of new paint, Sherwin-Williams In-Home Color Consultants (booth #206) will present “Spring/Color and Product Trends” from The Woodlands Lifestyles & Homes Presentation Stage and invite homeowners to stop by the Sherwin-Williams Color Snap booth throughout the weekend with their color questions.
Homeowners wishing to add unique designs, natural light and fresh air to their home can learn more about utilizing a room’s “fifth-wall,” with advice from Dan Marshall of Innovative Skylights & Attics (booth #111,113). Marshall will take The Woodlands Lifestyles & Homes Presentation Stage to share what’s new in skylights, including automatic, remote-controlled solar-powered fresh air skylights, the newest products from Velux Modular Systems and how solar blinds save homeowners money on cooling costs as well as through tax credits.
Among the experts scheduled for The Woodlands Lifestyles & Homes Presentation Stage are J Schwanke – The Flower Expert from uBloom.com, who will present two demonstrations each day – Flowers for Entertaining and Life is #BetterWithFlowers. In each demonstration he will share tips, tricks and hints for designing beautiful arrangements and will present that program’s creations to lucky audience members.
Also taking the stage will be local radio celebrity Randy Lemmon, host of GardenLine on KTRH AM 740, presenting “Bullet Proof & Drought Tolerant Gardening!” And Bill Murphy of Sweetwater Energy (booth #204) will discuss the merits of solar energy with “The Economics Of Going Solar In Texas.” For a complete list and schedule of speakers visit WoodlandsShows.com.
Repurposing wood removed from barns and other large, weathered buildings gets a nod with the return of Haggards Rustic Goods, specializing in building custom-designed furniture and goods that can be used indoors or out. And Buffalo Barn Doors joins the show to provide interested homeowners with an opportunity to see, feel and experience the company’s repurposed weathered sliding barn doors, wood wall paneling, custom furniture and counters.
Outdoor chefs will once again have an opportunity to learn about the newest barbecue grills as the Cunningham Gas Outdoor Cooking Stage welcomes Chef Connor Moran, who will fire up a FireDisc Grill, the ultimate portable propane cooker; Chef Shirley Byrd, who will be cooking on the latest Fire Magic Gas Grill; and Louisiana Grills Chef Kelly Wertz, who will demonstrate pellet cooking. Those attending the cooking demonstrations will be kept cool with Atomist Fans and have an opportunity to taste delicious samples while supplies last.
“Since our homes play such a large part in keeping our families and possessions safe, Dawson Security Group (booth #402,403,404,405) will be at the show to answer questions regarding home and business security concerns, and display and provide information on the industry’s newest products – from safes to keyless entries,” Wood said. “And representatives from security monitoring firm ADT Corp. (booth #416) will be on hand to provide information about the company’s many services.”
